About Island Soap & Candle Works

Island Soap & Candle Works is located in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands.  Our soap and candle factory established in 1984 is the only one of its kind in Hawaii.  The business was established with the intention of re-creating the ancient art of soap making.

We now manufacture a full line of natural Hawaiian Island Botanical Products, beeswax candles and other gift items.   Our products are all made in Hawaii and are found in sundry and fine gift shops throughout Hawaii and the world.

Today at Island Soap & Candle Works we hand make both a traditional South Pacific soap using pure coconut oil and a line of specialty soaps, adding coconut oil, olive, palm, macadamia and kukui nut oils combined with herbs and essential oils.  All our soaps are made entirely with vegetable oils.  Unlike most of the machine made soap on store shelves today, the glycerin which is naturally produced with saponification is left in our soap, making it more beneficial to the skin.

Due to the number of requests by island visitors to come and see our factory, in the fall of 1997 we opened a smaller version of our soap and candle factory with a charming retail gift shop in Kilauea on the north shore of Kauai.

In the fall of 1998 we opened our second location in Koloa on the south shore of Kauai. In the fall of 1999 we opened our third location in Honolulu at the Ward Warehouse.    In the fall of 2000 we opened our fourth store in Wailuku, Maui.  Now visitors can come and see how we make our soap and candles.  When visiting Hawaii please come in and enjoy the tropical aromas of our fresh made soaps and candles curing on the racks.
